This Brembo GT-S Hard Anodized Front Big Brake Kit (8002AS series) is a front axle upgrade for Porsche 996, 997.1, and 986/987 Boxster and Cayman models, replacing the factory braking system with a fixed 6-piston Brembo caliper and 355mm x 32mm two-piece rotor setup. It increases thermal capacity and maintains consistent clamping force under repeated braking, where the factory systems begin to lose effectiveness.
This configuration is typically used on performance-oriented street builds and mixed-use cars where higher speeds and repeated braking cycles expose the limits of the stock setup. The larger rotor mass and 6-piston caliper provide more even pad pressure across the rotor surface, helping maintain stable pedal feel and braking consistency during back-to-back stops. It’s a common upgrade when moving beyond stock braking capability without stepping into full race-oriented systems.
Brembo’s GT-S line uses hard anodized calipers for improved surface durability and heat resistance, paired with the same core engineering found in their OEM and motorsport systems. This kit includes GT 6-piston cast monobloc radial mount calipers loaded with Brembo FM1000 pads for street and performance use. It’s paired with high carbon two-piece rotors—available in Cross Drilled, TY1, or TY3 configurations depending on the selected variant—with corrosion-resistant plating, along with Goodrich braided lines and CNC billet radial mounting hardware.
Add it up—6-piston calipers, 355mm rotors, braided lines, and proper mounting hardware. This is a substantial step up from the factory front system for cars that are driven harder or carry more speed into braking zones.
