The Story

This Brembo Gran Turismo High-Capacity Front Big Brake Kit (8070A series) is a front axle upgrade for Porsche 930 (1978–1979), replacing the factory braking system with a fixed 4-piston Brembo caliper and 355mm x 32mm two-piece rotor setup. It addresses the fade and instability that show up once the factory brakes are pushed into repeated high-load use.

This configuration is typically used on harder-driven 930 builds where repeated high-speed stops or track use begin to expose the limits of the stock system. The larger rotor mass increases thermal capacity, while the caliper design maintains even pad pressure across the rotor face. The result is more stable braking during extended sessions, with less drop-off as temperatures rise.

Brembo’s Gran Turismo systems are based on the same engineering used in their OEM performance and motorsport programs. This kit includes a pair of GT 4-piston cast monobloc radial mount calipers loaded with Brembo FM1000 pads for street and performance use. It’s paired with high carbon two-piece rotors—available in Cross Drilled, TY1, or TY3 configurations depending on the selected variant—with corrosion-resistant plating, along with Goodrich braided lines and CNC billet radial mounting hardware.

Add it up—larger two-piece rotors, multi-piston calipers, braided lines, and proper mounting hardware. This is where 930 builds land when the goal is consistent braking under repeated high-load conditions.
