The Story

Clutch Pilot Bearing 

Clutch Pilot Bearing for 911, T, E, S, SC, 914-6 1965-1979 thru engine # 6292280 (thru eng.# 6591575 California). Rauch and Speigel machine the housings for these to very tight tolerances (0.0003″) from special quality cold-drawn and hardened steel bars that resist distortion and warpage even at elevated temperatures. This is critical to bearing life and operation because the insert bearings used in these parts rely upon the housing to establish the roundness and installed i.d. of the bearing (i.e.: the new bearings are not round out of the box). After black oxide plating we install an O.E.M. felt seal and a genuine INA (also O.E.M.) bearing. These may cost a few dollars more than some of the off-shore “wanna-be” parts floating around out there. But, if the additional costs of better materials and closer attention to critical details are considered, we think you’ll agree that these are a better bargain!
